MFJ invented the tunable active antenna. The new technology uses a gigahertz band buffer. The MFJ-1020C covers 0.3-40 MHz including VLF, AM broadcast, all shortwave, and all amateur radio bands. It uses a 9-volt battery. The MFJ-1020C measures 6W x 2H x 5D inches. Includes a telescopic whip antenna.
The active antenna provides amplified reception of broadcast, shortwave, or amateur radio signals from 300 KHz to 40 MHz. It can be used with the included telescopic antenna or with an external wire antenna if
selected. The MFJ-1020C offers gain, selectivity, and improved reception, both at home and as a portable unit in the field.
