The IC-A120E is a compact, waterproof device with an IP54 protection rating and is extremely durable. The dot-matrix LCD display with amber backlighting provides high visibility and clear, well-defined alphanumeric characters and icons.
The combined use of the directional keys and all backlit function keys ensures simple and immediate use of the device.
Key features include the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) function, which digitally removes background noise in both reception and transmission, and the ANL (Auto Noise Limiter) function, which reduces impulse-type noise generated by engine ignition.
The two functions cannot be used simultaneously.
The Side Tone function allows you to monitor your voice through the headset connected to the device, even when using the hand microphone.
The IC-A120E also features dual watch functions that alternately check priority and operational channels, and ON-Hook scan, which automatically activates scanning when the microphone is hooked to its holder. When the microphone is unhooked, scanning stops on the priority channel or the displayed channel (depending on what is programmed).
By combining the optional Bluetooth® UT-133A unit with the IC-A120E, it is possible to use Bluetooth® headsets.
With the use of the ICOM VS-3 Bluetooth® headset, the side tone function is also available.
