With the FLEX-8000 series (consisting of models 8400, 8600, 8400M and 8600M), FlexRadio establishes the new generation of high-end SDR transceivers. The FLEX-8400 is based on the architecture of the successful FLEX-6400, but features a CPU with approximately four times the performance and an FPGA with double the performance. This performance increase not only ensures faster boot and load times but, above all, provides a solid foundation for the implementation of numerous future features that cannot be realized with the resources of the FLEX-6000 series. One of the first of these new features is "Adaptive Pre-Distortion" (APD), which, according to the manufacturer, offers the cleanest signal on an amateur radio platform. All FLEX-8000 models also feature integrated GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) functionality and a future integrated NTP time server as standard. This ensures that all FLEX-8000 transceivers always remain on exactly the same frequency. But even without a direct view of the sky, the FLEX-8400 can continue to use the internal TCXO. The receiver's frequency range extends from 30 kHz to 54 MHz, while the transmitter is limited to amateur radio bands. The preselector with 3-pole bandpass filters ensures excellent immunity to strong signals. Adaptive Predistortion SupportThe FLEX-8400 model is designed for the radio amateur who wants to use the radio exclusively as a server from a PC, laptop, Maestro, Mac*, or iOS* client, whether local or remote. Both models share the same band awareness, industry-leading phase noise performance, brick-wall filters, and legendary audio performance to deliver maximum enjoyment in a wide variety of operating styles. With a PC, laptop, or Mac client, you can use up to two 7 MHz spectrum/waterfall displays and independent receivers to revolutionize your view of the bands. Its two receivers can be simultaneously positioned on any band and mode with instantaneous QSY between VFOs. Digital mode operation is a dream without sound cards, cables, or boxes needed. FlexRadio's industry-leading SmartSDRTM software offers compatibility across the entire FLEX-8000 Signature series to provide continuous software improvement with leverage. And you can use the latest SmartLinkTM technology to access your radio virtually anywhere from any SmartSDRTM compatible client with just a login and password, even your iPhone. Features
