The CG-3000 is a reliable automatic HF tuner from 1.6 to 30MHz, for verticals, longwires, dipoles etc. Like the well-known SG-230, this tuner essentially tunes wire or monopole antennas; the antenna connector is simply a high voltage connector. If you intend to connect a coaxial cable, first connect the shield to ground. The tuner has a range from 12 to 1000 ?, max. load power: 150W.
Once the tuning is found, it is stored in a non-volatile memory, so that a new tuning on a similar frequency will be very fast. The tuner uses a Pi network which has the advantage (compared to an L network) of acting as an additional low-pass filter, reducing spurious emissions.
The CG-3000 tuner operates at 12V DC, no other connecting cables are required. The robust plastic casing is also suitable for outdoor use, dimensions approx. 365x240x75mm. The minimum required antenna length is 2.5m for frequencies from 6MHz and above, or at least 8m from 1.8MHz and above. With a small fiberglass pole (not included) and some wire (not included), a good antenna can be built for all bands.

Pi matching network
CG-3000 is designed with Pi matching network. It provides more wide tuning range and covers whole HF band. Using 9 solid inductors, the total inductance ranges from 0 to 32 uH. They can give 255 combinations with a resolution of 0.25 uH. 5 capacitors are used at the input side, the total capacitance ranges from 0 to 6300 pF with 31 combinations. Other 5 capacitors are used at the output side, the total capacitance ranges from 0 to 755 pF with 31 combinations. So totally they give 245055 tuning combinations.
