RS-BA2.0
REMOTE CONTROL SOFTWARE VIA IP
The software allows operation and control of radios connected to a PC with Windows® operating system from another PC through an IP connection using a virtual serial port/simulated audio ports.
Any radio with a CI-V/RS-232 or USB input can be used with this software.
The RS-BA1 software package consists of the following parts:
- Network communication components:
Remote basic utility (basic software for both stations, interconnection of audio ports and COM port between radio-side PC and remote PC via IP).
Virtual COM port driver (for operator-side PC, conversion of data retransmitted via IP to an emulated COM port).
Virtual audio port driver (for operator-side PC, conversion of data retransmitted to emulated input/output audio ports). - Remote control software (for operator-side PC)
- USB driver for IC-7200/7600 (for operator-side PC)1
- Operation is guaranteed only for radios with USB port:
IC-7100/7200/7410/7600/9100. - It also works with IC-7700/7800 via the RS-232 port as
well as with other radios equipped with CT-172.
Compatible with Windows® XP SP2 or higher, Vista and Windows® 7 (32bit / 64bit3). - The IP connection must be made between two static IP addresses at both
stations4. - Audio latency times: 150ms5 (Win® XP) / 250ms5 (Vista/7)
Voice recording function.
Supplied with: USB cable (to connect the radio-side PC to a radio with a USB port).
1- An updated firmware for radios with USB port is planned for release for improved use of the new functionalities. Details will be communicated in the future.
2- The latency values reported below do not include those due to the network.
3- Driver compatibility with the 64-bit version is still being finalized
(Windows 7-64bit only accepts digitally signed drivers)
4- Details of the necessary IP characteristics are yet to be determined. - Basic knowledge of IP networks / router setup is essential to set up the RS-BA1 and for using a normal IP network.
5- These values do not include network latency times.
