The new FT-70DE is a compact YAESU Fusion System transceiver operating in both analog FM mode and advanced digital C4FM mode. The FT-70DE provides up to 5W of RF power, and its large front speaker ensures 700mW of audio output.

In C4FM mode, it has a better BER (Bit Error Rate) than other digital modulations, thus achieving exceptional audio quality. The new digital FT-70DE includes our unique Automatic Mode Select (AMS) function. AMS detects the operating mode of the received signal as digital C4FM or analog FM, and then automatically and instantly switches the receiver to the appropriate mode. Users do not need to manually change from one mode to another. The multi-color LED Mode allows the front display to show which mode the FT-70DE is currently in. In addition, the LED Mode clearly shows the transmit/receive mode by changing its color so that the transceiver's operating mode is easily recognizable at a glance. One of the other distinctive features of the FT-70DE is Digital Group Monitor (GM) with DG-ID and DP-ID. DGID (Digital Group Identification) and DP-ID (Digital Personal Identification) are useful functions now included in the FT-70DE, to simplify GM operation. In short, transceivers selecting the same DG-ID or DP-ID can communicate with each other. Between 00 and 99 DG-ID and DP-ID are selectable, so users can perform group communication with correspondents in GM mode according to their individual operational needs.
