The IC-705 adopts the RF direct sampling method that is highly valued in the IC-7300 / IC-9700. Lightweight approx. 1 kg (including the BP-272 Li-ion battery) and compact body with various functions including real-time spectrum scope and waterfall display with the highest level of speed and resolution. In addition, a large 4.3-inch color display that supports touch operation allows you to intuitively use numerous functions.
Despite being a portable radio, the IC-705 achieves a maximum output power of 10W with an external power supply voltage of 13.8 Vdc. When using the standard Li-ion battery pack BP-272 (same battery as the Icom ID-31/ID-51 series portables), the device operates in QRP mode with a maximum power of 5W, or in QRPp with 0.5W power. In addition to supporting connection via WLAN / Bluetooth ® wireless technology, it is also equipped with a GPS antenna, micro USB connector and microSD card slot. Of course, it supports the DV (Digital Voice) mode of D-STAR ® digital communication for amateur radios recommended by JARL (Japan Amateur Radio Federation).
