Icom CX-10 Transverter 10-10.5 GHz for IC-905
The CX-10G option belongs to the IC-905 and extends this transceiver to the 10 GHz band.
The CX-10G functions as a 2.4 to 10 GHz transverter (TX + RX). In practical use, the transverter is mounted near the antennas to minimize cable lengths.
To allow simultaneous operation on 2.4 and 10 GHz, the CX-10G is equipped with the option of looping through the IF signal. This means there is one IF connector for 2.4 GHz, and two antenna connectors, one for 10 GHz and one for 2.4 GHz. In addition, the transverter has a 10 MHz input for a high-precision reference clock. This ensures maximum precision and signal stability. When used with the IC-905 base unit, this reference clock comes from the RF unit's GPSDO, but another signal source can also be used.
Finally, there is a 10-pin connector for the control cable from the IC-905's RF unit to the CX-10G. This cable supplies power to the transverter and also controls the PTT. The pinout of the socket is described in the documentation, so you can easily integrate the module into your own systems.
