Icom AH-705 Automatic Tuner for IC-705
It fits perfectly into the LC-192 backpack, which has a compartment for the transceiver on top. So you always have everything together. The AH-705 is powered by built-in alkaline batteries (2 'AA' or 'LR6' size) or by an external 12V power supply. The current consumption is about 1 mA at idle and about 300 mA during tuning. As is common with automatic tuners, once the tuning steps are found, they are stored in an internal memory. This speeds up the tuning process.
Included in delivery:
1 control cable (2x 3.5mm jack plugs) and 1 coaxial cable (2x BNC plugs), both cables are approx. 2m long.
As a counterpoise, a longer piece of wire or a good, short ground connection is recommended. Possible antennas include dipoles or end-fed wires, but also tuned verticals that should be operated slightly off resonance. Operation on the 160m band requires an antenna at least 30m long; on bands from 80m, an antenna at least 8m long is suggested. The tuner can be used on frequencies from 1.8 to 54 MHz. Approximately 5W of power is required for tuning, with a maximum transmit power of 10W.
