The 1st IF stage mixer for HF/ 50 MHz is a quad mixer with four 3SK294 dual-gate MOS-FET devices offering very low noise, excellent intermodulation characteristics, and a high dynamic range. A dedicated mixer for the VHF/UHF bands, separate from the HF bands, allows for optimized design for the frequencies concerned, resulting in superior performance.

Yaesu's IF DSP system is renowned for its outstanding interference rejection
Same high-speed floating-point DSP as used on the FTDX Series
The Texas Instruments TMS320C6746 (3000 MIPS / 2250 MFLOPS) high-speed floating-point DSP chip provides excellent interference rejection with actual signals under real conditions, not only in HF, but also in VHF and UHF bands.
Extremely effective interference rejection
IF WIDTH and IF SHIFT functions, which are fundamental for interference elimination, are naturally integrated to optimize the effect. The effectiveness of interference rejection is further enhanced by sophisticated functions inherited from the FT-DX series, such as 16-stage digital noise reduction and the DNF (AUTO NOTCH) filter that quickly tracks even multiple beats. The CONTOUR function that easily highlights the desired signal with a natural sound; the NOTCH function with selectable bandwidth and other features ensure comfortable use in Contest and DX QSOs.
Final stage with ample power reserves: 100 W for HF /50 MHz band and 50 W for VHF /UHF band

Thanks to a push-pull arrangement of RD1OOHHF1 MOS-FET devices, renowned for excellent performance in the HF/ 50 MHz range, the amplifier delivers high-quality power at 100 watts, with low distortion.
High-speed 1.8 to 54 MHz antenna tuner supplied as standard
- The 50 W amplifier for the VHF /UHF band ensures sufficient power for high-frequency bands
The final amplifier for the VHF and UHF bands uses the high-power RD70HUF2 MOS-FET device, which includes two MOS-FETs in a single package, for an overall output power of 50 watts.

V/D mode for simultaneous voice and data transmissions with effective error correction, ideal for mobile applications and Voice FR* (Full Rate) mode for high-quality audio transmissions
- The AMS function instantly recognizes digital mode or FM mode and enables mutual communications
