IC-705 adopts the RF direct sampling method that is highly rated in IC-7300 / IC-9700. Lightweight approx. 1 kg (including the included BP-272 Li-ion battery) and compact body with various functions including real-time spectrum scope and waterfall display with the highest level of speed and resolution. In addition, a large 4.3-inch color display that supports touch operation allows intuitive use of numerous functions.
Despite being a portable radio, the IC-705 achieves a maximum output power of 10W with an external supply voltage of 13.8 Vcc. When using the standard Li-ion battery pack BP-272 (the same battery as the Icom ID-31/ID-51 series portables), the device operates in QRP mode with a maximum power of 5W, or in QRPp with a power of 0.5W. In addition to supporting connection via WLAN / Bluetooth ® wireless technology, it is also equipped with a GPS antenna, micro USB connector, and microSD card slot. Of course, it supports the DV (Digital Voice) communication mode of D-STAR ® digital for amateur radio recommended by JARL (Japan Amateur Radio Federation). Fully equipped with D-STAR ® functions such as terminal mode / access point mode.
LC-192 multi-bag (option), ideal for mobile and field operations, is also included in the range and is a transceiver for "Field DAY" operations. The IC-705, which covers the HF band to 430 MHz in all modes, is a new product that is expected to further enhance the enjoyment and activities of amateur radio.
