Alpha Delta DELTA-2B/N
2-Way Coaxial Switch with N Connectors (1500 Watt CW)
The excellent quality of this device is characterized by a casting with a constant impedance microstrip cavity for UHF. Lossy wafer switches are not used, but a solid system with ball bearings. No uncertainty about which position has been selected. Unused positions are automatically grounded to reduce noise interactions and possible discharges. The famous Alpha Delta Arc-Plug™ Cartridge protects the position in use. The antenna, whether in the in or out position, is always protected in both cases! The Arc Plug is easily accessible from the front panel so you can mount the switch on any surface. Both models handle full legal power.
The VSWR is less than 1.2:1 up to 150 MHz, and less than 1.5:1 at 500 MHz for the DELTA series with UHF connectors.
Models with N-type connectors have a VSWR less than 1.2:1 up to 500 MHz and less than 1.5:1 at 1.2 GHz.
Switches with SO-239 (UHF) are rated for 1500 watts CW/FM up to 30 MHz and 1000 watts from 30 to 450 MHz, assuming a VSWR less than 2:1. Higher VSWR values at full power could trip the ARC-PLUG cartridge. Isolation of 60 dB up to 450 MHz, typically 70 dB below 30 MHz.
N-type connector switches are rated for power up to 1500 watts CW/FM up to 150 MHz, 1000 watts from 150 to 500 MHz, and 800 watts from 500 MHz to 1.2 GHz. NOTE: 1.2 GHz, not 1.3 GHz. Isolation of 60 dB up to 500 MHz and 50 dB from 500 MHz to 1.2 GHz. Assuming a VSWR no greater than 2:1.
All models have such low losses that typically the interconnecting cables exhibit more loss than the switches themselves.
