- Easy to use
The TRI is a powerful tuning aid that, along with the automatically controlled input attenuator, helps the operator quickly and precisely match the antenna impedance to the optimal tube load impedance (typically 5-10 seconds). The auto-operate feature (if enabled) keeps the amplifier in transmit mode for you, preventing unnecessary manual operations.
- No antenna tuners
No heavy outboard antenna tuners required for the antenna. VSWRs up to approximately 3:1. The amplifier will allow you to change antennas almost instantaneously and enable you to use antennas over wider frequency ranges.
- User-friendly
An amplifier that is both easy to use and looks after itself. It has been designed to safely withstand up to 300W reflected power, up to 100 milliseconds duration of hard spikes, RF "tails" after a PTT release, or unintentional operator tuning errors, etc. The amplifier also will not stop operating with a "soft" AC mains and will deliver more than half power at only 85% of the nominal mains voltage. It can withstand voltage drops (down to zero volts) for up to 10 milliseconds and can tolerate 15% mains overvoltages, which is particularly important in Field Day, during DXpeditions, and during portable operating events where emergency power is relied upon.
- VFD Display
All amplifier status indications are explained through detailed text displayed on the dot matrix, high brightness vacuum fluorescent display (VFD). The top line on the VFD always reads peak forward power. LED indicators are provided for: mode, attenuation-on, transmit, selected antenna output, and fault/OFF conditions.
- Three antenna outputs
Three antenna outputs are selectable with a button on the front panel.
- Easy maintenance
Data concerning the internal status of the amplifier are stored in a non-volatile memory for 7 of the most recent automatic protection trips. This information can be sent to your dealer for diagnostics.
- Virtually silent QSK
To avoid input and antenna vacuum are virtually silent even in CW QSK mode thanks to specially designed mounting hardware.
- Broadband input matching
Resulting in very good load to the transceiver over the entire 1.8-54MHz spectrum.
- Single 4CX1000A tube
Uses a radial ceramic and metal beam tetrode with 1000 W plate dissipation that is specifically designed for Class AB1 RF linear amplifier operation.
- Tube protection
Monitoring and permanent protection of plate and grid voltages and currents, as well as exhaust air temperature.
