The plate load is a true resistance indicator and a powerful tuning aid which, together with the automatically controlled input attenuator, helps the operator to quickly and precisely match antennas (typically 5-10 seconds). The auto-operate function (if enabled) keeps the amplifier in operating mode, thus saving time and manual operations.
No Antenna Tuner
The amplifier can perform the functions of an antenna tuner for VSWR up to 3:1, thus allowing quick antenna changes and use over a wider frequency range (saving tuning time).
User-friendly: An amplifier that is both easy to use and self-sufficient. It is designed to safely withstand up to 300W reflected power, up to 100 milliseconds of harsh spike duration, "RF tail" drives after a PTT release, unintentional operator tuning errors, etc. It would also not cease to operate with a "soft" AC line and would deliver more than half power at only 75% of the nominal mains voltage. It withstands up to 10 milliseconds (down to zero) voltage drops, and up to +15% line voltage surges - especially important when used in field days, DXpeditions, etc.
LCD Display
Text messages, 12 parameters, and peak-reading PEP meter display strips on a dot-matrix, backlit LCD. LED indicators are provided for OPERATE, attenuator-on, and ON/OFF conditions.
Easy Maintenance: Amplifier internal status signatures are stored in non-volatile memory for the 7 most recent automatic protection trips. This information is used for diagnostics.
Virtually Silent ASK
The input bypass and vacuum antenna relays are very quiet even in CW mode due to their special mounting.
Broadband Input Matching: Resulting in very good load to the transceiver across the entire 1.8-54MHz spectrum.
Single 4CX800A (GU74B)
High-performance Svetlana ceramic-metal tetrode with 800W plate dissipation is employed (forced air cooling, grid driven).
Tube Protection: Permanent monitoring and protection of plate and grid voltages and currents, as well as exhaust temperature.
